Key Advantages
For more than 50 years, we’ve delivered the safest, most reliable fuel tank inerting systems to our key markets. Other reasons customers continue to trust our industry-leading solutions include:
System expertise: We approach fuel tank inerting from a whole system perspective. As a result our engineers have developed proprietary analysis capabilities that significantly reduce development and certification risks while optimizing overall performance.
Analysis capabilities: Our product design and performance capabilities include testing system architecture definition and function allocation, system safety assessment, fuel tank thermal modelling, flammability Monte Carlo analysis, air separation module (ASM) performance analysis, and tank mixing and distribution analysis.
Industry pedigree: Our fuel tank inerting system solutions are aboard a wide range of military and commercial platforms including A320, B737, B787, F-35, KC-46 and many more.
Superior testing and verification
Our inerting system solutions verification benefits from state-of-the-art system simulation and testing capabilities. They include:
• Steady-state performance
• System warm-up
• Temperature transients
• Altitude variation
Two leading options for fuel inerting systems
We offer two technologies to support nitrogen generation and on-board inert gas generation system (OBIGGS): Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) and Hollow Fiber Membrane (HFM).
Historically, PSA has been well suited for helicopter applications, which have smaller tanks and where quick fuel inerting is required at start up.
HFM technology allows us to design a more reliable system, better tolerance to moisture. The latest Gen II fiber technology produces more NEA per pound of hardware, consumes proportionately less bleed air than the PSA option. Higher temperature and fast inerting make it suitable for all applications.
